Beyond just a fun gathering for women, Matriarch Rising Festival is a deep healing journey for everyone who attends. Women have been calling this land "The Magic Place" since our first festival in 2021. This is a unique opportunity for women to be held and supported as they heal trauma and childhood wounds, awakening their highest and most embodied self in the presence of other loving, witnessing women. This healing inspires a ripple effect that creates real, active change in the world: women leave abusive relationships after MRF, launch their dream businesses, and so much more.
Matriarch Rising Festival is entering into its fifth year, and each year has involved magnificent growth. We have made major upgrades to our facilities to cultivate a sanctuary experience for all the women that join, and have continually sought out performers and teachers of the highest caliber with expansive audiences of their own.

The Matriarch Rising Festival is an exclusive women-only event that cultivates a sanctuary for mothers, daughters, and sisters to celebrate womanhood year after year.
Our mission is to preserve the practice of sharing woman-to-woman wisdom and inspire one another to claim ownership over ourselves as sovereign and spiritual beings.
Beginning with our closely knit and welcoming staff, our core design of community is woven throughout the entire festival. MRF is a coming home to ourselves, a safe and playful arena for the wild-hearted woman to let her guard down, find deep kinship, and return to her daily life renewed.
Matriarch Rising Festival is 5 day journey into the expansive nature of women's spaces, and the gifts that they provide. Women who come to MRF learn life-changing practices and information from workshops led by field experts, become inspired to start their own women-centered businesses or birth their babies in power, meet the friends that change their lives forever, and so much more. In a world where most women are forced to live within the patriarchal system, MRF is the necessary reprieve and reconnection with a woman's wholeness, that she (often) didn't even know she was missing.
Where wild-hearted women come together to play with what it’s like to center themselves and revive their connection to each other and mother nature.
Our days are filled with skill-sharing, workshops, song circles, radical feminist tea time, and holistic movement classes like yoga and somatic dance. You are welcome to flow to your desired sessions, lay in the sunlight with a new friend, or sit in the shade of the Tea Lounge and strum your guitar. We enjoy community mealtimes where the entire festival eats together and shares in the most ancient tradition of all: connecting over delicious, nourishing food prepared by the hands of a conscious woman, with love.
Our nights are spent singing around an open fire, cheering on the women offering their talents to the stage, and dancing ecstatically under the stars. Women return to their camps for the evenings and integrate the lessons and magic from each day as they reconnect with the Earth, sleeping under the stars (or in one of our more luxurious glamping bell tents).
2020
We dreamed of a place where women and their daughters could run wild and free, where we could gather with likeminded sisters, we could learn from each other, and heal together. After championing the success of Free Birth Society, we knew that Matriarch Rising Festival was the next obvious step - a place for women in the online freebirthing and natural living communities to gather in person.
THE LAND
Call it fate, manifestation, or magic, but in June 2021, just months after we first set eyes on this beautiful piece of land, we made it happen and we closed on the property just a few days short of hosting our first Matriarch Rising Festival. This land is a sacred gift that we cherish and honor each year through herbalism teachings, plant walks, and an opening circle that involves putting our bare feet on the Earth and connecting with the divine Mother.
2021
The first festival was a huge success, and a major upgrade to our entire staff's consciousness of what is possible. We set a goal for selling 100 tickets, and sold out in time for the solstice festival, where 100 women gathered under the solstice sun and the bright summer moon to dance, sing, cry, laugh, play, howl, heal, create, rest, and awaken. We learned about how to utilize the space of our land, what aspects of the festival needed tweaking, and most importantly - where we could expand for next year.
2022
By Year Two, we had expanded our facilities to include more comfortable camping arrangements, more space for workshops and performances, and more. We decided to double our goal from the year prior, and open the gates to 200 women. Matriarch Rising Festival sold out again and "The Magic Place" filled with more women than it's ever held before. We hosted some of the biggest names in the women's liberation movement such as Whapio, Sister MorningStar, and more.
2023
Our third festival was another major expansion as we decided to continue our trajectory of welcoming in 100 more women each year, and to our excitement and joy, we sold out again, with 300 women joining us for MRF. Our lineup featured celebrities of wild women's work such as Toni Jones, Sister MorningStar, Yolande Norris-Clark, and more. This year we were also met with our most challenging weather circumstances yet, and our facilities were put to the test with a North Carolina Summer rainstorm, where we learned a great deal to help us improve the festival grounds yet again.
2024
This coming year, we have opened the gates to another 100 women, expanding our capacity to hold 450. Our big leaps continue as we increase the add-ons we are offering, add a new venue for workshops and circles, waterproof our facilities, created cart paths for safe transportation in all weather, and so much more. Our lineup this year has already been confirmed and is full of leading experts in the fields of women's health and sovereignty, ritual and rite of passage, ancient wise-woman tradition, ceremony, nourishing body movement, and more. We are already nearly sold-out of our add-ons, and expect to sell out tickets before Spring.

OUR AUDIENCE
Women travel to our incredible festival from all over the world - to attend, teach, vend, and offer healing services. Every year we have hosted a diverse group of women of all ages, from maiden, to mother (and their babies!), to crone; our largest age group is women in their 20s-40s.
We are a true women's only festival, making us one-of-a-kind in today's climate, and the result for all attendees is something that is better experienced than described - this gathering on the summer solstice is a harbor of ultimate safety, freedom, expression, beauty, and connection that cannot be found on this scale anywhere else.
